How do we present AI search and digital change to the board?
Boards aren’t interested in AI features. They’re interested in how you’ll protect and grow the business without taking unnecessary risks.
Here’s a simple structure that works.
1. Start with the risk
- Show where your current digital setup is leaking: lost leads, poor journeys, slow teams, unreliable data.
- Put credible numbers against the impact – even as ranges.
2. Show the upside
- Explain how clearer journeys, better search and connected systems lead to more revenue, less churn and lower support costs.
- Anchor everything in 3–5 tangible KPIs.
3. Present a phased plan
- Phase 1 – Diagnose: audit stack, journeys, content and tracking.
- Phase 2 – Prove value: a contained AI search or optimisation pilot with clear KPIs.
- Phase 3 – Scale with confidence: roll out what works, with governance and safeguards.
4. Make measurement boring
- Show a simple dashboard view of how you’ll report progress.
- Make it easy for the board to see if the plan is working – or needs adjusting.
That’s how AI search and digital transformation move from “interesting” to “approved”.
We’d love to hear how your team is adapting to the wave of new technology. If you’d like to discuss where you are on that journey, get in touch.
