How do we track success online in an AI‑search world?

As AI search and LLMs take off, the old “sessions and page views” view of performance isn’t enough. You need to understand whether people are finding answers, taking action and reducing pressure on your teams.

Track performance through four lenses:

  1. Findability
    • Are we visible in organic search?
    • Are we being referenced or summarised in AI‑powered answers?
    • Is on‑site search (traditional or AI) surfacing the right content?
  2. Engagement
    • Do users find what they need within a few clicks or seconds?
    • Are they scrolling, interacting and exploring, or bouncing?
  3. Conversion
    • Are visits turning into demo requests, enquiries or sales?
    • Can we see when AI search or key journeys played a role?
  4. Efficiency
    • Are support tickets dropping as self‑serve content improves?
    • Are teams spending less time hunting for information internally?

Practical next step
Fix tracking for key actions (searches, clicks, forms, log‑ins) and build a simple dashboard that anyone in leadership can understand at a glance. That’s the baseline for proving the value of AI search and broader digital transformation.

We’d love to hear how your team is adapting to the wave of new technology. If you’d like to discuss where you are on that journey, get in touch.
